I'm already very pumped to wear these.
Maybe the only thing that excites me more than a spring makeup or nail trend (and you best believe I love a good pastel moment) is a spring hairstyle. By the end of winter, I'm beyond ready to shed my layers, beanies, and jacket hoods and try something different with my hair that doesn't involve untangling it from my scarf, ya feel me? And this year, I'm *especially* excited because the spring 2022 hair trends are so good.
On the Fashion Week runways this season, we saw some old '90s faves, lots of accessorizing, a bunch of cool updos, and a ton of hairstyles that embraced each model's own texture. Excited? Same. So keep scrolling for some hair looks you'll want to wear all spring long
At the Monse show, hairstylist Naeemah LaFond kept each model's natural texture in mind. The result? An emphasis on less-is-more styling. Instead of changing their natural features, LaFond emphasized them. Whether it be frizziness, waves, or coils, each style added to the look for a truly unique show.
Models were dripping with high shine and "wet—" inspired looks on the Private Policy runway. Hairstylist Kien Hoang wanted the models to look like they were ~literally~ stepping out of water. Though we may not see this extreme of a "wet" style on an everyday basis, shiny, glistening hair will definitely be all over.
The much-anticipated Fendi x Versace collab, "Fendace," featured a star-studded lineup of models wearing scarves styled many ways, including as a hair accessory, as pictured here on Emily Ratajkowski. Models at Anna Sui also sported the headscarf in bright, pastel colors.
Y2K looks are here and that includes the much-debated middle part. IMO, middle parts have never gone out of style, but now that so many models on the runway have sported the look, I think it's safe to say they're really back for now. Complete the hairstyle with some sleek straight hair like the models at Chanel.
I could only dream of pulling off a bun this impeccable, but you bet I'll spend all spring 2022 trying to learn how! Hairstylist Lucas Wilson created sleek chignons and low buns for some of the models, while others wore their hair slicked back or down in loose waves.
Good news: The tendrils you've been wearing (and loving) aren't going anywhere this spring. Hairstylist Odile Gilbert gave some of the models at Altuzarra two small braids in the front for a little '90s throwback.
For LaQuan Smith, hairstylist Lacy Redway added little touches to make traditional hairstyles feel more current, like this slicked ponytail hairstyle with waves and baby hairs, and the wavy-ended cornrows with swooped edges (def tap through these pics for inspo).
Your go-to messy bun gets a colorful makeover for spring 2022. Models at Alice & Olivia wore monochromatic snap clips, bobby pins, and barrettes that perfectly matched their outfits and made the messy hairstyles feel more intentional.
At Ulla Johnson, we saw lots of gold and pearl hair accessories, whether the models wore braids, like the cornrows shown here, or walked the runway with their hair down and straight.
What goes better with floral print and pastels than oversized hair bows? The models at Markarian wore all of the above with braids, buns, and finger waves.
Models at Tom Ford wore low buns with a deep side part balanced by chunky barrettes on the opposite side. Yep, you read that right. Side part. We're finally back, bb.
I told you tendrils are back for spring 2022! Models at Anna Sui wore the early '00s hairstyle with hats and scarves or alone in all their glory.
At Moschino, we saw lots of colorful beaded braids and teased French twists inspired by looks of the '90s. So much '90s nostalgia for spring 2022! Gotta love it.
I definitely, 100 percent wore my hair like this all of eighth grade, so you know I'm pumped it's back for spring 2022. A handful of models at Versace wore this half-up, half-down hairstyle that's slicked back and super-straight.
This spring, the longer your low ponytail braid, the better. Exhibit A: The models at Erdem with dramatic braids tied off with bows at the end.
Not just any braided updo, the hairstyles Jawara created for the Christian Siriano show were woven with ribbon and bent to create this whimsical shape.
Fact: Flowers are the best part about springtime. It only makes sense to add a bloom or two to your bun hairstyle, as seen on the models at Naeem Khan.
Models at Proenza Schouler wore box braids, loose waves, and braided ponytails wrapped in elastic string, like the one shown here. Yes, this is where all of your hair ties have been hiding.
If there's anything you take away from this article, let it be this: glitter. The models at Blumarine were dripping in iridescent sparkles on their bodies and in their hair, and come spring 2022, you will be too.
